What exactly are compostable bioplastics, you ask? Good Question. Read on for more information...

Compostable bioplastics are derived from renewable raw materials such as starch from corn, potato, tapioca, or other plants and vegetables. The plant mass used to make the bioplastic in the bags we offer is non GMO (not genetically modified), and is grown and harvested for product manufacturing, not for use as a food source. The bags are truly biodegradable in that they are designed to degrade in an aerobic landfill. In other words, sorting and special composting are not required; when decomposed, the bags become inert elements supportive of natural biological processes with non-toxic results. WooHoo!
