On the Horns of a Doggie Dilemma |
If you're like many Portlanders, you have a dog (or three) and are conscientious about picking up after your pooch in public spaces. In fact, you probably also carry those wonderful reusable bags with you for shopping. What does one have to do with the other? As noxious as plastic bags can be, they are also handy for picking up doggie doo. In their absence, what's an Ecofriendly Guy or Gal to do?
Preserve Their Poo? Well, you could buy bags specifically made (or repackaged) for the purpose but they are spendy and often not biodegradable. Regular plastic bags basically petrify their contents and we can think of much better things to preserve for posterity! So, as amusing as this might be to future archaeologists sifting through our landfills, please consider other options. Buy Local, We Do! You can buy a package of 50 small flat bioplastic bags from us and feel better about what you're putting in the landfill. The bags are made by a local Portland company and even better, bioplastic is made to decompose, much like your dog's poo. The bags don't come in a pretty package or have a cute refillable container to hook onto your leash but we feel confidant that you can overlook this in view of the bigger picture. We thank you and so does your Mother. |
