A-frame signs, sandwich signs or whatever you want to call them, are a great way to draw people to your door. Putting a sandwich sign on the corner near your store lets people know that you're there and that you're open. An amazing amount of information can be put into a sandwich sign, your store name, store hours, location. products or even menu items. You can also give potential customers an idea of what your store is like by the style and tone of the sign. Think of your sandwich sign as a blank canvas and the only limit is your creativity. For example, try using bold and basic colors if you are a fun kid's toy store. If you're a music store, whether it's selling CDs or instruments, you could use musical notes. If you're a cafe, you could use the sandwich sign to tell people what kinds of food and coffee you serve. You could also add a sheet of white board to show your daily specials or use chalkboard paint on one side. We sell blank sandwich signs for $65.00 each and we have several in stock. As you can see from the picture, we use our own sandwich signs on busy corners close to our warehouse. We chose to have a sign maker do the lettering for our sandwich sign and then we applied them ourselves. That little sticker in the upper right hand corner is a permit from the city to allow us to put out the sandwich sign. The application process is simple and the fee is minimal. Here is a little story for you... Many years ago (ok it was just in 1998), Kat and Penney started Portland Store Fixtures and only saw about 10 customers a week. One day they put a sandwich sign on a busy corner about two blocks away from their store and that same day they had three new customers come in the door. These were completely new customers that hadn't been looking for them at all, they just saw the sandwich sign and decided to check them out. The sign paid for itself with those first three customers and we still get new customers every week who come in because they saw the sandwich sign on the corner.
